The City of Consumption sits on a plain and is surrounded on all sides by tornados. Some are like giant pillars, churning slowly. Others are like spindly pubic hairs, haphazardly scribbled across the sky at strange angles with fragments of clouds torn from them.
Max the Pig arrives at night after being deposited by Tim the Truckdriver. The city and the clouds are bathed in an irridescent green light -- if you've ever been in a tornado, you know this eerie glow. The city is visible as a large metropolis, but seen at such a distance to make it seem small, like Manhattan seen from New Jersey. The plain surrounding it is yellow with greenish tints of vegetation, like the Kansas prairie in the Spring.
